Sergeant Wiley Woodrow Tyler 

Sergeant Wiley Woodrow Tyler USMC. Born 31 March 1921 in Pocahontas, Arkansas Attended Arkansas and Crowley, Colorado, schools and joined Marines on 19 February 1942 at the age of 20. Trained at San Diego, California, and served with Company L, 8th Marines, 2nd Marine Division. Machine gunner in a line company, he fought on Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Saipan and Tinian. Followed active service with duty at Marine Base, Quantico, Virginia, and holds (PTO) Ribbon with 4 Battle Stars, Pres. Unit Citation (PUC) with 2 Stars, Commendation, and Victory Medal. Son of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Tyler, and husband of Imogene Tyler, Crowley, Colorado.
