Staff Sergeant Jabe P. Smith 39847091 US Army Air Corp. Born 10 January 1914, Tobe, Colorado, and attended schools at Taos N. Mex. Entered Army Air Forces 21 May 1942 and trained at Sheppard Field, Texas. Flew with 13th Anti-Sub- marine Squadron on U. S. east coast patrol, and served in India, China and Tinan, Marianas (CBI). With 794th Bomber Squadron, 468th Bomber Group, 58th Wing, 20th Air Force, in destroying dry-docks at Singapore, and bombing until fall of Japan. Unit Citation obtained for bombing Yawata steel works on 20 August 1944. Holds American Theater Ribbon with one Battle Star, and Asiatic Pacific Ribbon (PTO) with six Battle Stars. Honorably discharged 19 October 1945. Rancher before service and son of Mrs. Iva Hart of Monte Vista, Colorado.
