753rd Tank Battalion
During the 753rd two-plus years in the Mediterranean and European Theaters of Operations, the battalion participated in six campaigns across Italy, France, and Germany, including three major combat landings from the sea. Over the course of its combat experience, the battalion, or subordinate elements thereof, supported two U.S. armies, six U.S. corps, two Allied corps, a remarkable sixteen different divisions (to include 5 Allied countries), and two U.S. armored groups. The 753rd Tank Battalion served 486 days in combat. The 753rd Tank Battalion served the Algerienne, France, Morrocan New Zealand, and of corce the United States, in the Campaigns of Sicily, Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, Southern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe. They were attached to the 3rd Division Infantrie Algerienne, the French Expeditionary Corps, the 2nd Division Infantrie Morrocan, and the 2nd New Zealand Corps. As well as these United States Units; the 7th Army, the 5th Army, the I Armored Corps, the II Corps, the IV Corps, the VI Corps, the XV Corps, the XXI Corps the 1st Armored Division, the 1st Infantry Division, the 3rd Infantry Division, the 34th Infantry Division, the 36th Infantry Division, the 42nd Infantry Division, the 45th Infantry Division, the 63rd Infantry Division, the 70th Infantry Division, the 82nd Airborne Division, the 85th Infantry Division, the 88th Infantry Division, the 100th Infantry Division, the 1st Armored Group, and the 2nd Armored Group.
