Private First Class Robert J. Watkins 37714698 US Army. Born 12 February 1923 in Evans, Colorado Attended Gill High and business college, and was a clerk and farmer prior to entering service on 8 January 1945, at the age of 21. Trained at Camp Roberts, California, and served in the Philippines with 80th Chemical Mortar Battalions and 85th Chemical Mortar Battalions. Later transferred to Military Government, Korea, and honorably discharged 6 August 1946. Holds Asiatic Pacific (PTO) Ribbon, Philippine Liberation, Japan Occupation, and Victory Medal. Son of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Watkins of Fort Morgan, Colorado; married to Mrs. Opal Watkins, and they have a daughter, Prudence Marie.
