T/5 Charles Willis Herrick 31348536 US Army. He was born on September 4, 1920, in Lyndeborough, New Hampshire, he was the son of Willis Ford Herrick and Lucy G Stiles Herrick and and he also had 1 brother. Charles married Genevieive Denison Herrick in 1942. By 1930 he was living in Bernardston, Massachusetts. At the time of his enlistment he was 6 foot tall weighed 150 pounds had blue eyes and brown hair. He was employed by Massachusetts Dept of Public Works, in Boston before he joined the US Army.

Charles was one of the original members of the 63rd Infantry Division entering the 63rd Division in the summer of 1943 at Camp Blanding Fl. He served with the Medic Company of the 718th Field Artillery battalion, 63rd Infantry Division. He took part in the foot march from Camp Blanding Florida to Camp Van Dorn Mississippi. On December 14, 1943 he entered 63rd Infantry Division Field Artillery as a medic. He transferred to the 363rd Medical Battalion, 63rd Infantry Division in the fall of 1944 he served in this unit in Combat and for the remainder of his time with the 63rd Infantry Division. He transferred to the 36th Infantry Division in the late summer of 1945. He was awarded the Combat Medic Badge (CMB),  the Bronze Star Medal, for being awarded the CMB, the Good Conduct MedalThe American Theater of operations Medalthe European Theater of Operations Medal ETO with 2 battle stars, and the World War Two Victory MedalHe died on November 2, 2002, in Franklin, Massachusetts, at the age of 82, and was buried in Bernardston, Massachusetts.
