S/ Sgt. HENRY J. PRESLEY 34235592 US Army. S/Sgt. Presley, was born on March 28, 1919, son of Mr. John Joseph Presley of Toro, La., and husband of Jewel Alice Presley of Port Arthur, Texas. He attended Northwestern State College at Natchitoches, La., and entered the service on March 14, 1942, at Many, La. Assigned to the Army 82nd Airborne Division; also served with 98th Infantry Division, and 63rd Infantry Division. He training at Camps Claiborne, La., Breckinridge, Ky., Blanding, Fla., and Van Dorn, Miss. when he entered the  63rd Infantry Division he served as a Cadre. He first served in HQ Company, 254th Infantry Regiment, and on October 7, 1944 he transferred to the Service Company, 254th Infantry Regiment. He served overseas for 11 months fighting in the battle of Colmar, Seigfried Line, and Rhine River. He was awarded the ETO Medal with 3 battle Stars, Presidential Unit Citation the Bronze Star Medal with Oak Leaf Clucter, the Combat Infantry Badge the World War Two Victory Medal, and Good Conduct Medals. On Oct. 7, 1945, he received his discharge.
