CM 1/ c Richard L. Griffin, US Navy. He was the son of Mrs. Bernice Griffin, Linden. He was the son of Richard Hightower Griffin and Bernice Cameron Griffin of Linden Texas. David was also the brother of S/Sgt David Griffin, and Sgt. Welborn E. Griffin. Richard entered the Navy Seabees in 1943, trained at Camp Peary, Va., Gulfport, Miss. and Port Hueneme, Cal. He served in Hawaii, Marshalls and Marianas. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, The American Theater of operations Medal, and the World War Two Victory Medal, The Asiatic Pacific Theater of operations. He was discharged in 1945.
