Pfc. Charles R. DeWeese Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. C. R. DeWeese of Dublin, Texas. He was the husband of the former Lola Mae Rasberry of Dublin, Texas. He attended Dublin High School. He  entered the US Army In 1944. He trained at Camp Wolters, Texas and Fort George Meade, Md. He served in England, Belgium, Holland, France, Germany, and in Richer Pocket. He served in B Company, 309th Infantry, 78th Infantry Division. He was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart Medal and Regimental Citation, and Expert Rifleman Badge. He was Killed in action, April 6, 1945 in Dattenfeld, Germany.
