Master Sergeant LEONARD C. SALE

Master Sergeant LEONARD C. SALE, U. S. Army The son of William W. and Betty Elizabeth Sale of Henderson, Texas. Brother of WILLIAM WARREN SALE 38474719. He was born July 11, 1920. After attending Haynesville High School, he was employed as Salesman for the Hormel Packing Company. Inducted July 11, 1942, at Camp Beauregard at the age of 22. He served as Radio Operator and Communications Chief at Sedalia Army Air Base, Missouri; Pope Field, North Carolina; and Bear Field, Indiana. On January 1, 1944, he embarked for the European (ETO) area where he served as Communications Chief in Italy, France, and Holland, participating in the campaigns of Normandy, Southern France, Rome-Arno, Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe. The recipient of the Presidential Citation, Master Sergeant Sale was given an honorable discharge October 28, 1945, at Camp Shelby, Mississippi.
