S/Sgt Franklin Ener Rutland

S/Sgt Franklin Ener Rutland 38042875 US Army. He was born on October 22, 1918. He was the son of Redorick Pierce Rutland and Fannie Fladger Swint Rutland of Douglasville Texas and the brother of PFC William “Bill” Pierce Rutland 20812451, and James R. Rutland. Fannie Swint Rutland died when Bill was 5 years old. His father’s second wife Eunice Lillian Bryan Rutland who married Redorick P Rutland in 1925 raised his three sons. He attended Atlanta High School. He entered the US Army on October 22, 1941 in Dallas Texas. At the time of his enlistment he was 5 foot 9 inches tall weighed 145 pounds he had Black hair and Hazel eyes. He served in Company B 709th Tank BN and was attached to the 8th Infantry Division. He was killed in action on July 27, 1944. He was Awarded The Silver Star Medalthe Purple Heart MedalThe American Theater of operationsthe European Theater of Operations Medal ETO and the World War Two Victory Medal.
