Y2C Edward D Fields 6715380 US Navy Seabees. He was born on Nov 22, 1907 in Blackey, Kentucky the son of Henry Jackson Fields and Amanda Jane Caudill Fields. He was the brother of Isabelle F. Fields Jones, PVT. Corbett William Fields, and Fernando Curtis Fields. He was marred to and divorced Susan Moye Fields, in 1940 he married Geneva Fern McCorkle Fields. He enlisted in the US Navy on December 9, 1942, at the age of 35. At the time of his enlistment he was 5 foot 7 weighed 185 pounds had gray eyes and black hair and he was working for Gater Ruber Co in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was a passenger on the USS Chaumont AP5 on May 25 – May 31, 1943. He served in the PTO in the the 31st construction battalion and served on Iwo Jima. He was discharged on September 15, 1945, at the age of 37 years old. He died on April 10, 1984 at the age of 66.
