Private first class Dent Stringham Davis 39934964 US Army. He was born on March 19, 1926, the son of Daniel Murray Davis and Chloe Stringham Davis of Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah. He is also the brother of M/Sgt. Kelly Davis, and Ross Jed Davis. PFC Dent Stringham Davis entered the US Army on September 12, 1944 at the age of 18, at Fort Douglas Utah. At the time of his enlistment he weighed 135 pounds he had Blue eyes  and blond hair and was 5 foot 10 inches. He served in Company A, 382nd Infantry Regiment, 96thInfantry Division. He was seriously wounded in the Ryukyus campaign (Okinawa)on May 10, 1945. He was discharged from the US Army on June 17, 1946, at Fort Douglas Utah. He was awarded the American Theater of Operations Ribbon, the Asiatic Pacific Theater Service Ribbon (PTO), a Good Conduct Medal, a Purple Heart Medal (PHM) and a Victory Medal Combat Infantry Badge (CIB). Dent was Honorably discharged from the military in June of 1946. On November 20, 1948 he married Doris (Dorie) Berry in Bountiful, Utah. He died on June 13, 2009 in Bountiful, Davis, Utah.
