Staff Sergeant. BILLY JOE DAVIS

Staff Sergeant. BILLY JOE DAVIS, Prisoner of war son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam S. Davis, and husband of Alieth, of Dallas Texas. He was born June 11, 1920, and entered service November 14, 1942 at the age of 22. He was assigned to the Army 82nd Airborne Division, and served in Europe (ETO) from April, 1944, to June, 1945, in the campaigns of Normandy and Southern France, and the invasion of Germany. He was a P.O.W. in 3 Camps: Dulag Luft; Stalag Luft IV; Stalag 357. Wounded and missing, June, 1944. Awards: Air Medal, 3 Oak Leaf Clusters Purple Heart Medal (PHM); ETO, 3 Stars; Good Conduct, Prisoner of war Medal World War Two Victory Medal. He was honorable discharged, 1945.
