PFC Homer C. Williams 7000141 KIA

Private First Class Homer C. Williams Service number 7000141 United States Army Air Corps Killed in Action POW. PFC Williams was born on November 9, 1921 in Edgefield County, South Carolina. He entered the United States Army Air Corps on October 13, 1939. He served in the Philippines and fought for the defense of Bataan. He served in the 48th Materiel Squadron, 27th bombardment group. He was taken prisoner on Bataan and took part in the Bataan Death March. He died in a Japanese prison camp POW Camp. He died on August 1, 1942, at the age of 20. He was awarded the Purple Heart Medal, American Defense Medal, the World War Two Victory Medal and the Prisoner of War Medal.
